The second event in the Poetry Debates series III, “Who owns poetry?", was held on November 1, 2023, at Nachtasyl, Thalia Theater and investigated the topic of “Lyrics as poetry? The poetic quality of song lyrics”.

The first event in the Poetry Debates series III, “Who owns poetry?", was held on October 18, 2023, at Katholische Akademie Hamburg and investigated the topic of “Who reads poerty? Accessibility and social functions of poetry.”

The second event in the Poetry Debates series, “Poetry and Technology", was held on November 9, 2022, at Literaturhaus Hamburg and investigated the topic of “Posthuman Creativity: Poetry and Artificial Intelligence.”

DLF reporter Axel Schröder attended our Poetry Debate II.2 on “Posthuman Creativity: Poetry and Artificial Intelligence”. His feature about the event with the poet Zuzana Husárová, and researchers Vadim Keylin and Wiebke Vorrath of the PoetryDA-Team was broadcast in the program “Kultur heute” on Nov. 11, 2022.

In her multimedia live performance "All Machine 2013-2023" the poet Kinga Tóth combined visual poetry with sound poetry. The performance took place in the context of our second conference "Audioliterary Poetry between Performance and Mediatization" on May 11, 2023.

The  final event of our Poetry Debates II series, "Poetry and Technology" questioned the relationship between "Poetry and the Hard Sciences". It took place on Dec. 7, 2022, at Warburg Haus, Hamburg.

“Crafting Poetry with Digital Media” was the topic of the opening event in the second series of Poetry Debates “Poetry and Technology". It took place on October 26, 2022 at Nachtasyl, Thalia Theater.

In his lecture performance, the poet Chris Kerr presents code poetry that he co-wrote with Dan Holden. This performance took place on May 20, 2022, as part of our first conference “Poetry and Contemporary Visual Culture / Lyrik und zeitgenössische Visuelle Kultur”.

Radio segment on the ERC research project and the first Poetry Debates series, broadcast on January 3, 2022, during NDR Kultur’s “Matinee” show – with excerpts from interviews with Claudia Benthien and spoken verse by Nora Gomringer, Julia Cimafiejeva, and Uljana Wolf.

“Poems as Interventions in Political Crises: The Case of Belarus” was the topic of our fourth Poetry Debate I in the series  “The Politics of Poetry” It took place on Dec. 8, 2021 at Katholische Akademie Hamburg.

The third event in the first Poetry Debates series,  “The Politics of Poetry," was held on November 24, 2021, at Universität Hamburg and investigated the topic of “Eco-Criticism in Poetry: Engaging Climate Changes.”

“Instagram, Twitter & Co: Poetry and Socio-Political Activism” was the theme of the second event in the first Poetry Debates series, “The Politics of Poetry”. It took place on November 10, 2021, at Literaturhaus Hamburg. The first Poetry Debates series, “The Politics of Poetry,” opened with an event on “Poetic Installations in the City: Poetry and Public Space,” held on October 27, 2021, at Warburg Haus, Hamburg.

This video documents an experimental conversation between the poet Heike Fiedler and the researcher Henrik Wehmeier for the conference “one: to another – An Experimental Conversation Between Poetry and Scholarship”, which took place in Munich on Sept. 17, 2021. It was created by Heike Fiedler. 

Marc Matter presented this lecture performance on orality and digitality in sound poetry at the conference „one: to another – An Experimental Conversation Between Poetry and Scholarship“  on September 17, 2021, in Munich.

In this video, Wiebke Vorrath, Andreas Bülhoff, and Jörg Piringer talk about the opportunities and limitations of digital poetry during a panel discussion held at the conference „one: to another – An Experimental Conversation Between Poetry and Scholarship“  on September 17, 2021, in Munich.

Recording of an online lecture given at Universität Marburg in March 2021, in which Claudia Benthien combined recent poetry and early modern studies. A contribution written for the conference “Monika Rinck and Contemporary Poetry” (December 2020), complementing Rinck’s Frankfurt poetics lectures will be published in 2022.
