We are pleased to announce the launch of our new book series. It will be published by De Gruyter and edited by the Principal Investigator of the Project, Claudia Benthien: https://www.degruyter.com/serial/poetryda-b/html.
The interdisciplinary series introduces new research objects of the digital age, as well theories and methods to investigate current poetry and poetry formats. The series’ foci are on the interaction of popular and ‘high’ culture as well as on the question of which aesthetic, cultural or political functions are assigned to the diverse forms of the design, presentation and distribution of poetry today. To this end, approaches from literary studies will be combined with performance and theater studies, media and film studies, musicology, sound studies, speech science, visual culture studies and art history as well as psychology and sociology.
The peer-reviewed book series published in German and English showcases the research outputs of the ERC project: monographs by the individual researchers, three anthologies from the research fields of the sub-projects, and a Handbook bringing together approaches, research questions, and (inter-)disciplinary methods.
In addition, the series is open for further book publications in German or English on the topic of ‘poetry in the digital age’, preferably monographs. All books are published in hardcover as well as in open access, on attractive conditions.
The first three volumes are already in print:
- Claudia Benthien und Norbert Gestring: Public Poetry. Lyrik im urbanen Raum (vol. 1)
- Hans Kristian S. Rustad: Situating Scandinavian Poetry in the Computational Network Environment (vol. 2)
- Magdalena E. Korecka und Wiebke Vorrath (eds.): Poetry and Contemporary Visual Culture / Lyrik und zeitgenössische Visuelle Kultur (vol. 3).
