We are delighted to announce that the next guest curator of our Instagram profile (@ercpoetryda) will be Ronya Othmann (@ronyaothmann), who will be taking over in August 2025! Following Sirka Elspaß, Tim Holland, Jörg Piringer, Cia Rinne, Tanasgol Sabbagh, Elizabeth Torres, and Christoph Wenzel, Ronya Othmann will be the eighth poet helping to bring more poetry to Instagram and expanding the collaboration between scholarship and art within our research project.
About the curator: Ronya Othmann is a poet, writer, and essayist. Her poetry collection die verbrechen was published by Hanser in 2021 and was awarded the Orphil Debut Prize and the Düsseldorfer PoesieDebütPreis. In 2020, she published her debut novel Die Sommer, which won the Mara Cassens Prize. Othmann also received the MDR Literature Prize in 2015, won the Caroline Schlegel Prize for essays and the Open Mike for poetry in 2017, and received the Audience Award at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in 2019. In addition to her literary work, she writes as a columnist: she penned the column “OrientExpress” together with Cemile Sahin for the taz until August 2020 and, since 2021, has been publishing the column “Import Export” in the FAZ.
We look forward to the month ahead and the range of poetic expression that Ronya Othmann has in store for us as curator! Her first posts will be available on our Instagram profile @ercpoetryda on August 5, 2025.
