On April 4 and 5, 2024, we held our networking workshop on the book series and current research in the ERC project. After we had presented our entire research team and the monographs, edited volumes, and a handbook being worked on by the individual researchers, there was an opportunity for a professional exchange with ten relevant colleagues from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, Austria, England and Switzerland, who came to Hamburg.
Julia Lajta-Novak from the University of Vienna presented her ERC project Poetry off the Page, while Ralph Müller from the Université de Fribourg informed us about the inter-university SNF project “Poetry in Notions.”
In addition to short research presentations by Anne Karhio (Hamar), Karen Leeder (Oxford), Louise Mønster (Aalborg), Jesper Olsson (Uppsala), Hans Kristian S. Rustad (Oslo) and our PI Claudia Benthien, there were three keynote speeches:
Solveig Daugaard (Copenhagen) presented a case study from her book project Poetry in the Post-Digital Condition: Infrastructural Poetics Between the Visual and the Tactile. Karin Nykvist (Lund) talked about a book on the topic of Multilingual Performativity in Contemporary Nordic Poetry she is currently writing together with her colleague Elisabeth Friis. In the third keynote lecture, Claire Ghëerardyn (Toulouse) presented her habilitation project ‘In Situ Poetry’ or Putting Poems in Places. Site-Oriented Practices in Contemporary Poetry.
Through its variable and open formats, including two panels with academic “speed dating,” the workshop received an extremely positive response from the invited guests – and PoetryDA a lot of encouragement and positive feedback on its ongoing research!
