We are delighted to announce the next guest curator for our Instagram profile (@ercpoetryda) for the month of September: Tanasgol Sabbagh (@tanasgold)! Sabbagh is the fourth curator to contribute to our account, following Christoph Wenzel, Jörg Piringer, and Cia Rinne. With this series of Instagram takeovers, which take place twice a year, we aim to broaden the scope of the collaborations taking place between art and scholarship in our research project, explore the possibilities of poetic practice in digital media, and help to ensure that more poetry and lyricism appear on Instagram.
About the curator: Tanasgol Sabbagh writes. She presents her literary works in performances, audio pieces, video installations, and musical collaborations. She is a cofounder of the artist collective parallelgesellschaft and the event series of the same name. The latter addresses and negotiates concepts of political art outside of German mainstream culture or Leitkultur. Together with poet Josefine Berkholz, she is a founder and editor of the audio-literary magazine Stoff aus Luft, which is also published as a podcast, a format that foregrounds spoken and sound-based literature. Sabbagh lives in Berlin.
We look forward to the coming month and the array of poetic self-expression that Tanasgol Sabbagh will invite us to take part in as our curator! Her posts will be available on our Instagram profile @ercpoetryda from September 5, 2023.
