Following Cia Rinne (February 2022) and Jörg Piringer (August 2022), poet Christoph Wenzel took over the curation of our Instagram profile for one month in February 2023, presenting a series of his own poetic pieces and offering multifaceted insights into his artistic work.
Wenzel works as a writer, poet, editor, co-publisher, and curator and is employed by RWTH Aachen University. Since his 2005 poetry debut (zeit auf der karte, Rimbaud), he has been awarded several prizes and has been the recipient of various scholarships. His latest volume of poetry landläufiges lexikon (Edition Korrespondenzen) was published in 2022 and deals with themes such as memory, spaces, suburbs, people, and crises.
Christoph Wenzel is interested in many different areas. Together with translator Stefan Wieczorek, he is part of the core editorial team of the trilingual German-Dutch-Flemish poetry magazine Trimaran. He also curates an Instagram page @fluss_laut for the online poetry anthology flusslaut, which is dedicated to Rhenish poets. On this Instagram profile, Wenzel guides his followers down a poetic river via graphic lines. He publishes the work of new poets as well as that of poets who are already well known.
Christoph Wenzel’s, Jörg Piringer’s and Cia Rinne’s artistic guest contributions can be viewed on our Instagram profile @ercpoetryda. This page is curated by poets at regular intervals for one month at a time. With this series, we want to expand upon the collaborations between art and scholarship in our research project, jointly explore the possibilities of poetic practice in digital media, and increase the amount of poetry on Instagram.
