Prof. Jessica Pressman, PhD (TF)
In April and May 2023 Prof. Jessica Pressman, PhD (San Diego State University) is a Research Fellow in our project.
She is a Professor of English and Comparative Literature and a co-found of the Digital Humanities Initiative at San Diego State University. She is the author of monographs Bookishness: Loving Books in a Digital Age (Columbia University Press, 2020) and Digital Modernism: Making it New in New Media (Oxford University Press, 2014) and has co-edited anthologies Book Presence in a Digital Age (with Kiene Brillenburg Wurth and Kári Driscoll; Bloomsbury Press, 2018) and Comparative Textual Media: Transforming the Humanities in the Postprint Era (with N. Katherine Hayles; University of Minnesota Press, 2013).
In the ERC-Project, she is affiliated with the Theory Forum. During her research stay in Hamburg, Prof. Pressman will participate in our conference “Audioliterale Lyrik zwischen Performance und Mediatisierung / Audioliterary Poetry between Performance and Mediatization”. She will give a talk on 12 May 2023 on the subject “Oceanic Digital Poetry: Paradigms for 21st Century Poetics”.
